These terms cover the Recast desktop application and this website. By installing or purchasing Recast you agree to them.
1. Licence to use
Buying Recast grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software as described in the EULA. Personal licences cover 2 devices for one person. Team licences cover 5 seats within one organisation.
2. What you may record
You may record anything you have the right to record, including your own software and demonstrations you are authorised to give. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required from people, customers or employers whose material appears in your recordings, and for not including confidential information you are not permitted to share.
3. Purchases and refunds
Sales are processed by Gumroad as merchant of record. Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase — see Refunds.
4. Trial
The trial runs for 7 days from first launch and includes all features. When it ends, export is disabled but your existing files remain usable.
5. Updates
Your purchase includes updates for 12 months. The version you bought continues to work indefinitely. We may change or remove features in later major versions.
6. Restrictions
You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense or rent the software, nor remove licence checks. You may not use it to build a competing product by extracting its components.
7. No warranty
Recast is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost recordings. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid.
8. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
